MEMBANGUN KARAKTER PESERTA DIDIK MELALUI PENERAPAN NILAI NILAI KEARIFAN LOKAL MINANG KABAU

Abstract

Character is a representation of a person's identity that shows his submission to applicable rules or moral standards and reflects his thoughts, feelings and inner attitudes which are manifested in the habit of speaking, behaving and acting. One form of character education that should be applied is by instilling local wisdom values. In Indonesia, various local wisdoms are owned by each region, including in Minang Kabau. The values ​​of Minang Kabau local wisdom that can be used as a guideline for attitude and behavior are the values ​​of "kato nan ampek" and the values ​​of "sumbang duo baleh". One way that can be taken to introduce the values ​​of local wisdom is by introducing and optimally applying these values ​​in the learning process, extra-curricular activities, or student activities at school through the Local Wisdom-Based Character Education program. By introducing and applying the values ​​of Minang Kabau local wisdom, it is hoped that the character of students who have noble character and personality will be formed as one of the goals of national education.
